Cam Thomas Fantasy Outlook: Should You Draft the Brooklyn Nets Shooting Guard This Year?

It’s the final weekend before the NBA regular season begins, which means you’re coming here for your fantasy basketball drafts.
Should you draft Cam Thomas this season? Here’s the latest outlook, projections, and rankings for the Brooklyn Nets Shooting Guard.
Should You Draft Cam Thomas in Fantasy Basketball?
Cam Thomas’ first season as Brooklyn’s undisputed primary scoring option didn’t go as planned, as a left hamstring strain limited him to only 25 appearances. Thomas delivered several notable offensive performances in limited action for the tanking squad, scoring 31-plus points six times, including a season-high 43-point effort against the Knicks in mid-November.
However, that wasn’t enough to secure him a lucrative contract in restricted free agency. Instead, the 24-year-old settled for his one-year, $6 million qualifying offer, giving him plenty to prove in the 2025-26 campaign.
While the Nets acquired Michael Porter Jr. over the summer, Thomas should still be in line for high usage on a roster that is largely devoid of shot creation. He will look to replicate last season’s career-best production (24.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.7 3-pointers per game) over a full campaign.
That said, Thomas’ narrow fantasy skill set, centered around scoring, triples, and free-throw percentage (88.1%), makes him more of a value pick in Rounds 7 to 9 in standard drafts.
