Josh Jacobs Highlights Top DFS Showdown Plays For Packers and Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers will be the last two teams to take the field on Sunday in week eight of the NFL. For DFS players, there is still time to cash out on the day, and rebound and win big in this matchup. Here is a breakdown of plays to make in DFS showdown formats on DraftKings and FanDuel for the contest between the Packers and the Steelers.

The Green Bay Packers RB1, Josh Jacobs, should have another big points week following last week’s game against the Arizona Cardinals. Against the Cardinals, he had 13 rushes for 55 yards and two touchdowns. His rushing attempts total was the lowest it has been all year, but that should filter back up.

Bengals RB1, Chase Brown, had 101 rushing yards on 11 carries against the Steelers last week. Up until that point, the most rushing yards he had in a game were 42 yards. This is extremely encouraging for Jacobs going into the matchup. If he can get a few more carries in this game and continue his trek of touchdowns–he has found the endzone six times in his last three games–he is a must-play in DFS on Sunday Night against Pittsburgh.

Aaron Rodgers is starting to carve out an impressive season, and with that, his WR1 DK Metcalf should be on his way to stacking more impressive outings. He is coming off an underwhelming game against the Bengals, logging just 50 receiving yards on three catches. In the two games prior to that, he had over 90 yards receiving. He should get back to this output against Green Bay.

The Packers have a top-tier rushing defense this season. They are allowing the second-fewest rushing yards per game. With this, they have given up big games in their passing game in two of their last three games against WR1s. In two of these games, a WR1 logged 90 or more receiving yards, and both had a touchdown. Metcalf should be a play and has the capacity to be another one of these WR1’s to have a game against the Packers.

The Green Bay Packers TE2, Luke Musgrave, has an extremely low price. If DFS players want to stack their lineup with extremely high-priced players, at his number, Musgrave could be a worthy addition to a pair beside these big names. Last week against the Arizona Cardinals, Musgrave logged his highest snap percentage in any game he has played this season. He played in 43% of snaps. His previous high was in week one, where he played in 35% of snaps. This rise did not provide any points, as Musgrave did not log a reception, but against the Steelers, if he can maintain this volume; he can produce a meaningful game. The Steelers this season are allowing the third most PPR fantasy points per game to the TE position.

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Pat Freiermuth got lost in the shuffle of the Steelers’ talented TE tandem for most of the season. However, against the Bengals last week, he reestablished himself as a relevant player in their pass game. He had five receptions for 111 yards and two touchdowns. In the game, he played in 65% of the team’s snaps. This was the second time this season he played in 60% or more of snaps in a game.

The Packers, as mentioned earlier, are a top rushing defense, allowing the second fewest rushing yards per game. On top of that, like the Steelers, Green Bay struggles to guard the TE position. They are currently allowing the second-most PPR fantasy points to the TE position in the NFL. Taking a shot in playing Freiermuth in this DFS showdown is worth the gamble
