MATCH PREVIEW | MK DONS

The switch focuses back to league action tomorrow as the Bees welcome MK Dons to the Hive in matchday 15 of the 2025/26 Sky Bet League Two season.
Barnet:
After exiting the FA Cup on Saturday to Fleetwood Town, Dean Brennan can now turn his full attention to climbing up the League Two table.
Two goals either side of the break for the Cod Army gave the Lancashire club a two-goal cushion in the first round of the competition and despite Callum Stead curling a stunning effort into the top right corner late on from nothing, it wasn’t enough for the Bees to stage a late comeback in the game.
Stead missed a couple of golden opportunities late in the first-half to level proceedings before half-time and the visitors controlled the opening stages of the second 45 at the Highbury Stadium, but with the few chances that they did create, Barnet couldn’t find the back of the net.
In the league, the Bees will be looking to use the positives from the performance against Notts County last time out at the Hive and hopefully be on the right side of the result this time round.
Barnet’s last five results:
Fleetwood Town 2-1 Barnet FC (FA Cup R1)
Barrow AFC 2-2 Barnet FC
Barnet FC 3-2 Cambridge United (Vertu Trophy)
Barnet FC 0-1 Notts County
Tranmere Rovers 0-2 Barnet FC

MK Dons:
Milton Keynes currently sit fourth in the League Two table after fourteen games played, with seven wins, three draws and four losses to their name.
The Buckinghamshire-based club were dubbed favourites by many at the start of the campaign, having spent big in the summer, alongside the addition of experienced manager Paul Warne at the end of the 2024/25 season and have certainly shown they have quality in all areas of the pitch.
Founded in 2004, following the relocation of Wimbledon FC, MK Dons have gone on to win the League Two title and the Football League Trophy in the 2007/8 season, came runner-up in League One seven years later, before another promotion out of League Two in the 2018/19 campaign.
Milton Keynes sit top of the away form table, having lost only one on the road so far, with eleven goalscorers on their records already in the league, proving they carry a threat throughout.
MK Dons’ last five results:
Colchester United 2-3 MK Dons (FA Cup R1)
Bromley 2-1 MK Dons
MK Dons 3-1 Crewe Alexandra
Bristol Rovers 0-4 MK Dons
Reading 1-0 MK Dons (Vertu Trophy)
In the opposition dugout:
Paul Warne took the reigns at Stadium MK in April this year. After finishing 19th and struggling to get going last season, the 51-year-old saw the project at hand and the potential with the team, hoping he’d be able to create something special with what was at his disposal.
Warne has coached over 400 games since his first managerial role in 2012 following his retirement from the professional game, his first role coming at Rotherham United, where he was eventually appointed manager on a permanent basis.
What followed was three relegations and promotions between League One and the Championship during his six-year spell, with an EFL Trophy win in his final year with the Millers.
Warne then joined League One side Derby County and after frustratingly missing out on play-offs in his first season with the Rams, took the club back to the Championship in the 2023/24 season.
One to watch:
With quality in abundance across the pitch, it’s hard to single out one standout player for MK Dons this season.
The Club captain is enjoying his second stint in Buckinghamshire, and has made over 200 appearances for tomorrow’s visitors, contributing to 66 goals during his time at Stadium MK.
The 30-year-old playmaker is the heartbeat of the club’s midfield and has started all games so far this campaign, with his threat in the air and finishing ability making him a real threat for any opponent.
Last time the two sides met:
The three most recent meetings between the two sides have been in friendlies, with the last competitive game seeing the Bees lose 1-0 to Milton Keynes in the second round of the FA Cup.
The last league encounter was back in the 2007/8 season when it was branded the Coca Cola League Two, with the Bees losing 2-0 at home and 1-0 on the road that campaign, thanks to a goal from Ismail Yakubu.
