‘Bugonia’ to host advance screening for bald-headed moviegoers

Not bald? No problem, they can take care of that, too.
Baldies are in luck.
Anyone with a bald head — or those willing to shave off their hair — are invited to attend a special advance screening of “Bugonia,” which opens in area theaters on Friday.
The movie stars Emma Stone — whose character in the movie sports a shaved head — as a pharmaceutical CEO who may or may not be an alien. Jesse Plemons plays a character who has been wronged by Stone’s character and who kidnaps her to extract information from her and to exact revenge upon her.
The bald-headed screening will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Emagine Royal Oak. Those with hair who are willing to part with it can head to Youngbloods Cuts & Stitches, located at 24918 John R Road in Hazel Park, which will give free buzzcuts to the first 25 people who show up on Wednesday. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Admission to the screening is free but is not guaranteed. The bald and the freshly shorn are encouraged to arrive at the theater early, as seating is first-come, first-served.
Portions of the event, which follows a similar screening in Los Angeles last week, will be filmed for promotional purposes, according to an event release.
“Bugonia” is directed by Yorgos Lanthimos (“Poor Things”).
