British Gas has announced another Green Flex event tomorrow (Friday, October 31) where its PeakSave customers can enjoy half price electricity.

Between 11:30am and 13:30pm, these customers will see their electricity bill cut in half, as windy conditions have resulted in more renewable energy being available.

The Green Flex event falls on Halloween, meaning households could decide to use these half-price electricity hours to prepare for parties or binge-watch spooky films.

It’s also a great time to get ahead on weekend jobs like laundry or vacuuming, all while saving on your electricity bill.

PeakSave Green Flex events allow customers to benefit from half-price electricity during the two-hour window decided by the energy provider, based on when it is very sunny or windy and there is lots of renewable energy available.

Eligible customers will be emailed to opt in and take part.

Green Flex events are in addition to the energy providers usual PeakSave Sunday scheme, which offers half price electricity on Sunday between 11am and 4pm.

There is no obligation to change your normal routine, although the more you can shift regular activities such as washing, cleaning or cooking, the more you could save on your energy bills, whilst helping the planet.

All PeakSave customers will continue to get half-price electricity every Sunday without needing to opt in. PeakSave was launched to reward customers for better energy usage, supporting a greener energy supply.

So far, British Gas has paid over £30 million to over 1 million customers taking part in the scheme.

British Gas uses its own forecasting to set the events to test the potential savings and impact on the grid with this scheme.

The discount is available to new and existing PeakSave customers, and all savings will appear as a credit on customers’ energy bills.
