Montreal faces staffing shortage ahead of municipal elections

As municipal elections approach on Nov. 2, some areas across Montreal are still looking to fill substitute poll workers positions to cover last-minute absences and ensure smooth operations at polling stations.
Municipal elections will take place in all municipalities across Quebec. Montreal contains more than 450 polling stations.
The Élections Montréal team is still actively recruiting workers.
Advance polls will take place on Sunday, Oct. 26 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the official voting day is Sunday, Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Election workers must complete theoretical training, including an explanatory video and workshops that can be done entirely online.
For those interested in working on election day, you can apply online.
