Steph Curry saw wife Ayesha’s make wild relationship claim during NBA season preparations

Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry kicked off his 17th NBA season under intense scrutiny, though not for his signature three-pointers or steadily improving golf game, following his wife Ayesha’s explosive podcast appearance roughly two months before the 2025-26 campaign begins. Meanwhile, Michael Jordan’s first NBC appearance had NBA fans in total agreement.
Ayesha Curry sparked widespread discussion after exposing her inner turmoil regarding marriage, parenting, and personal identity during her appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast. The 36-year-old entrepreneur, cookbook writer, and television personality candidly discussed how her early twenties took an unexpected turn and how her bond with the four-time NBA champion completely transformed her outlook on life.
“No, I didn’t want kids. I didn’t want to get married,” Ayesha confessed during the interview. “I thought I was going to be a career girl, and that’s it.” It comes as Kevin Durant shared a theory on why Oklahoma City Thunder fans continue to “resent” him after his OKC exit.
Ayesha continued, “I had my eyes set on my goals, and I was never the little girl who dreamt about the wedding dress and all of that. Then it happened so early in my life. You don’t know what you want until life kind of throws it at you.”
Ayesha revealed that following her marriage to Steph in 2011, she conceived shortly afterward, completely altering everything she believed she desired.
“After we got married, we found out we were pregnant with our daughters so quickly, I didn’t even have time to think about what I wanted anymore,” she said. “It’s so interesting. I spent my entire life trying to work towards something, and then it kind of just disappeared, and I didn’t think twice about it.”
The discussion about identity and motherhood swiftly sparked controversy across social media platforms. Numerous supporters interpreted Ayesha’s remarks as bitterness directed at her spouse. Others rallied behind her candid revelations about the emotional challenges of maturing under public scrutiny. That didn’t prevent social media users from dissecting her statements online.
One supporter commented, “Publicly embarrassing your husband, who gave you the easiest life, is insane.” Another posted, “Her hobby is embarrassing Steph.”
It’s not the first time Ayesha has encountered backlash for her transparency. During previous discussions, she’s revealed she “hated” being in the limelight during the early years of their union and described constant public attention as “so depressing.”

Nevertheless, she’s also acknowledged how those identical pressures assisted her transformation into an independent businesswoman and mother of four children. The pair’s romance dates back to 2003, when they first encountered each other as adolescents in a North Carolina church group. Several years afterward, they rekindled their connection and wed in 2011, now raising daughters Riley and Ryan alongside sons Canon and Caius.
While the Warriors gear up to launch the 2025-26 NBA season against the Lakers, Steph seemed untroubled by the digital uproar. During his 15 preseason minutes against LA, he tallied 14 points. The Warriors are heading into the regular season opener as slight favorites against the Lakers, with LeBron James still out due to back problems.
This game is part of NBA Opening Day, following the season’s first match between the reigning champions, Oklahoma City, and the revamped Houston Rockets, now under the leadership of Durant.
