Ford Field teases Foo Fighters concert, 2026 date on social media

The 15-second clip, which follows a band post saying they’re “ready to take flight,” carries an August 6, 2026 date.

Foo Fighters are teasing a very big Detroit concert on social media.

On a video posted to Ford Field and Live Nation Michigan’s Instagram accounts on Tuesday, a 15-second video shows a dark garage with flickering lights illuminating a Ford Mustang and an empty drum kit, followed by a few riffs from Foo Fighters’ “Everlong.” Text on the screen then reads, “Ford Field 08.06.26.”

Other posts on social media are pointing toward an upcoming Foo Fighters tour.

Earlier on Tuesday, a post on social media showed a large white LED cube with the Foo Fighters’ logo on it, spotted near a sign near Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena. The cube highlighted Thursday’s date.

On the band’s social media accounts last week, Foo Fighters posted a picture of a bird in front of the band’s logo along with the message, “About to take flight…”

A Ford Field show would be the band’s largest Michigan concert to-date.

Foo Fighters’ last Detroit concert was at Little Caesars Arena in October 2018. The band was due to play Saint Andrews Hall in May 2020 on its 25th anniversary tour, before the COVID-19 pandemic wiped out live shows for 2020 and much of 2021.

The band toured the U.S. in 2024, but Detroit was not included on the itinerary.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers’ most recent album “But Here We Are,” their first since the 2022 death of drummer Taylor Hawkins, was released in 2023.
