Flight from Nashville arrived at Louisville airport before deadly crash

LATEST: At least 9 dead, others missing after UPS plane crashed, exploded during takeoff
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A spokesperson with the Nashville International Airport confirmed to WSMV4 that a Southwest flight arrived at the Louisville airport before the deadly crash involving a UPS plane on Tuesday.
BNA reports that Tuesday’s flight arrived before the fiery crash that killed at least seven people at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport.
As of Tuesday evening, there are no real impacts at BNA, and no flight diversions have been taken, the spokesperson confirmed. As of now, there’s a Ground Stop at the Louisville airport through Wednesday morning, but that could change.
It is unclear how Wednesday’s flights from Louisville and Nashville will be impacted. The spokesperson confirmed there’s a flight scheduled to land at BNA before noon and leave Nashville to land in Louisville after 3 p.m.
At least 7 are dead and multiple are injured after a UPS plane crash in Kentucky.

WSMV4’s sister station, WAVE, interviewed passengers who landed in Louisville from Nashville on Tuesday after the plane crash.
The passengers said they came from Nashville and had a short layover in Louisville before heading to their next destination. During the interview with WAVE, the passengers detailed seeing smoke before seeing a “big fireball.”
The passengers were stopping through Louisville from Nashville to get to their next destination when the deadly plane crash happened.
“Looked out the window, saw the smoke, and had a good feeling we weren’t getting back on any time soon,” the passengers said.
“We were trying to figure it out. Like, we didn’t know what it was at first. We heard someone mention, like, as we were getting off the plane, because it was a TSA, ATC layover originally, or delay. And then ended up going, oh, there’s like, there’s a big fireball.”
