Pistons at Bulls odds, picks and predictions

The Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls open their seasons Wednesday at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Pistons vs. Bulls odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

2024-25 season series: Pistons won 3-1

Detroit finished last season with a 44-38 record, good for fourth in a tough Central Division. The Pistons made the playoffs for the first time since the 2018-19 season, falling to the New York Knicks in the First Round — just their third playoff series since 2008. The team lost G Dennis Schroder as a free agent but added G Caris LeVert and F Duncan Robinson to support G Cade Cunningham, who averaged 26.1 points per game last season.

Chicago finished last season at the bottom of the Central Division with a 39-43 record but squeaked into the postseason via the Play-In Tournament, where they lost to the Miami Heat. They have not reached the First Round since the 2021-22 season. The Bulls traded G Lonzo Ball to the Cleveland Cavaliers for F Isaac Okoro, while the team drafted F Noa Essengue with the 12th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

Pistons at Bulls picks and predictions

Prediction

Pistons 121, Bulls 119

BET PISTONS (-150).

The Pistons had a solid season last year despite an injury to Ivey. He suffered a knee injury in training camp, which will keep him sidelined for at least a month to start this season. The team will have to adjust again without him, but it added critical pieces to surround Cunningham with long-range sniper Robinson and a solid ball handler in LeVert.

The Bulls did not make enough moves over the offseason to create confidence in them, even though they are opening the season at home.

PASS.

Due to injuries on the Pistons’ side and the Bulls playing in front of their home fans, the moneyline has the best value here.

BET OVER 233.5 (-110).

The Pistons have scored at least 127 points in each of the last 3 meetings, including the last 2 in Chicago. Expect Cunningham to have a strong start to the season, not only offensively but defensively as well.

A fast-paced game for the home team — which features G Josh Giddey, who re-signed with the team for 4 more years this offseason, and G Ayo Dosunmu, who will need to step up in White’s absence — will play a crucial role in the Over hitting.
