Parents sign petition to overturn Augusta Health’s Bright Horizons decision

FISHERSVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – More than 500 people have signed a petition calling for Bright Horizons to retract their plan to make their early education and preschool exclusive to Augusta employees.
The petition was started by Jacie Grant, a parent of one of the children who will have to find a new location to learn by February 1, 2026
The petition has dozens of comments asking Augusta to reconsider its decision.
“It’s not just our kids being impacted, its the kids who are staying in the center that are going to see over a third of their peers just disappear over the next few months,” Grant said.
If nothing changes Grant and her toddler will need to find a new preschool, something she says is not easy to do.
Instead, Grant is asking Augusta to let her and the other children whose parents don’t work for the company to stay.
“It’s a family there and the reason we’re fighting so hard is not because we’re fighting the center, because the staff is incredible. We want to stay, that’s why we’re fighting so hard for this change,” Grant said.
