Steelers maintain a two-game lead over the Ravens in AFC North race with a win over Colts

Steelers (5-3) maintains a two-game lead over the Ravens (3-5) in the AFC North race thanks to an impressive 27-20 win over the Colts on Sunday
The AFC North is officially competitive, and the Pittsburgh Steelers secured a 27-20 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, aided by five turnovers from Colts quarterback Daniel Jones. This win keeps Pittsburgh (5-3) two games ahead of the Baltimore Ravens (3-5) in the AFC North standings. After an outstanding start to the season, Jones had his worst game as a Colt, going 31 of 50 passing, for 342 yards, one touchdown, three interceptions, and a 63.9 rating. Jones also fumbled three times, losing two of them. For Pittsburgh, Aaron Rodgers was 25 of 35 passing for 203 yards, one touchdown, and a 95.3 rating. It was the Steelers defense that did the most damage, finishing with five sacks.
The Ravens have the fifth-lowest strength of schedule remaining (.442), with their most challenging matchups being the Steelers (twice), Packers, and Patriots. The Ravens are Super Bowl hopefuls, but thanks to a myriad of injuries and bad play, the team started the season out 1-5 before a much-needed 30-16 win over the Bears. They moved to 3-5 after a dominant 28-6 win over Chicago on Amazon Prime’s Thursday Night Football. Baltimore’s win puts John Harbaugh back in contention to win the AFC North. Tasked with one of the most demanding early-season schedules, the Ravens will start to face less challenging competition.
With nine games remaining, Baltimore needs to win at least seven to secure the likely double-digit wins required to earn one of the final AFC wild-card spots. In prior years, Week 8 would have been an easy victory; now, the Ravens will need to exit the bye week focused and prepared to face a confident, multifaceted Bears team.
