Former Cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council Jim Finucane has passed away

Former Cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council and Fine Gael councillor Jim Finucane has passed away.
He was aged 68 and will be remembered for his long commitment to politics and the work he did for the people of the county.
Jim Finucane was involved in politics since he was 18-years-old and was an elected politician for almost 30 years.
He served as Cathaoirleach of the council in 2023 and was also elected as Mayor of Tralee.
Mr Finucane also previously held a seat on Tralee Urban District Council from 1985 to 1999.
Just last month, Jim Finucane was appointed honorary consul of Ukraine for the south west region.
