Tom Brady Says His Dog Junie Is Clone of Former Dog Lua That Died in 2023

Former NFL quarterback Tom Brady has an extensive list of endeavors outside of football, and one of them led to a unique development for his family.

Per Bailey Richards of People, Brady revealed on Tuesday that his dog Junie is a clone of his late dog Lua, who died in December 2023. Colossal Biosciences, a biotech company that he is an investor in, used blood collected prior to Lua’s death to clone her.

“I love my animals. They mean the world to me and my family,” Brady said. “A few years ago, I worked with Colossal and leveraged their non-invasive cloning technology through a simple blood draw of our family’s elderly dog before she passed.”

The revelation coincides with Colossal’s acquisition of another biotech company, Viagen Pets and Equine. Brady added that the company “gave my family a second chance with a clone of our beloved dog” and said that he is “excited how Colossal and Viagen’s tech together can help both families losing their beloved pets while helping to save endangered species.”

Brady shared Lua with ex-wife Gisele Bündchen and their children. The pup was regularly seen with Brady in social media posts, and she also starred alongside him in an Ugg Australia commercial in 2014.
