BRENTFORD, Fulham and Cardiff have all won through to the last eight of the EFL Cup. Cardiff won the all-Welsh derby with Wrexham, beating the Championship side 2-1 in front of almost 11,000 people.
THE DFB Pokal saw two big upsets with Augsburg knocked out by Bochum and Wolfsburg eliminated by Holstein Kiel. Holders Stuttgart travel to Mainz and last season’s runners-up Arminia Bielefeld go to Union Berlin in other second round ties.
PARIS Saint-Germain generated record revenues of € 837 million in 2024-25, a season that saw them win the Champions League, Ligue 1 and Coupe de France. PSG still managed to make an undisclosed loss.
ENGLAND women beat Australia 3-0 at Pride Park, but the victory was marred by a nasty knee injury to Michelle Agyemang. A crowd of 27,000 saw the game.
