Red Deer residents heading to the polls on election day are encouraged to allow for a little extra time.
The City of Red Deer says voting may take longer this year because of the use of Alberta’s new permanent elector registry
Each municipality, including Red Deer, are required to provide updated voter information to the provincial government after the election.
This means voters are going to be asked to complete an elector register form at the voting station even if they’re registered to vote. As a result, voters might be at the station slightly longer than anticipated.
