Davis Schneider’s Dad Posts Reaction Video After Blue Jays LF Hits World Series HR

Toronto Blue Jays left-fielder Davis Schneider led off Wednesday’s Game 5 of the World Series with a bang, blasting a solo home run on the very first pitch.

His father, Steve Schneider, posted an understandably-exuberant reaction video from behind home plate at Dodger Stadium:

It was quite the first inning for the Blue Jays, as Vladimir Guerrero Jr. ripped a solo homer of his own just two pitches later:

While Guerrero is having a postseason for the ages—his homer on Wednesday was his eighth in October—Schneider was making just his fifth start of the playoffs and seventh overall appearance. Coming into Game 5, he was hitting .188 with a .566 OPS, six strikeouts and three runs in 16 postseason at-bats, operating in a left-field platoon with Nathan Lukes

Suffice to say, the game-opening homer was quite the moment for the 26-year-old outfielder and his family.
