Claudia Winkleman typically excels at maintaining her steely-faced Celebrity Traitors persona – yet eagle-eyed viewers caught the precise moment the TV host dropped her roundtable facade during the programme.

The latest instalment of the popular BBC series witnessed the surviving celebrities tackle a high-wire task for the opportunity to boost the prize fund and secure a shield.

Whilst Claudia normally relishes striking terror into her castle inhabitants throughout the show, she found herself bent double with hysterics after Alan Carr participated in the challenge.

The comedy performer was required to navigate a bridge, hanging numerous metres above ground, whilst Kate Garraway guided him through.

Yet Alan wasn’t crossing silently and screamed throughout his journey over the bridge, reports the Mirror.

Numerous supporters flocked to social media to highlight how Claudia entirely lost her composure during the task and was frequently caught in uncontrollable giggles at Alan.

Another commented: “Claudia laughing her a**e off at Alan #CelebrityTraitors.”

A third remarked: “I love Claudia sfm trying not to laugh at Alan on the bridge #CelebrityTraitors.”

Meanwhile a fourth added: “Claudia breaking ‘character’ whilst watching Alan I LOVE THIS WOMAN. #CelebrityTraitors.”

One viewer took to social media to share that Claudia’s reaction to Alan’s “scream like a murder victim” was turning out to be “tv gold”. This humorous moment provided some much-needed light relief after another celebrity fell prey to the Traitors.

It came after a dramatic face-to-face murder, which saw comedian Lucy Beaumont become the seventh star to meet her end.

“I’m not happy with you at all,” she told Cat, before conceding that she played the game “really, really well”.

When Cat offered an apology, Lucy retorted: “No, that’s not good enough.”

Reflecting on her exit, she confessed to the show: “There was an element of real shock and feeling betrayed and also relief at finally knowing who they are.”

On the other hand, Cat confessed that she “felt bad” for eliminating her friend, but justified it by saying: “It had to be done.”

As the episode concluded, the first Traitor was finally apprehended by the Faithfuls – resulting in Jonathan being exiled at the roundtable.
