Springer exited the team’s 6-5 loss in Game 3 in the seventh inning of the 18-frame marathon. Springer took an awkward swing while at bat and immediately motioned to the training staff.

A native of New Britain, CT, Springer enjoyed a resurgent 2025 season, with a .959 OPS and a career-high 161 OPS+.

In 14 games this October, Springer is batting .246 with 14 hits, four home runs, nine runs batted in and an .884 OPS.

Springer, who spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Houston Astros, was named World Series Most Valuable Player in 2017.
