Ravens vs. Dolphins: Baltimore holds a 28-6 lead on Lamar Jackson’s fourth TD passes

The Baltimore Ravens (2-5) will seek their second straight victory, traveling for a Thursday night matchup against the Miami Dolphins (2-6).
NFL seasons are a marathon and not a sprint. John Harbaugh’s team has battled injuries and inconsistency through the first eight weeks. In Week 8, even with Lamar Jackson out due to injury, the Ravens (2-5) returned home and snapped a four-game losing skid, defeating the Chicago Bears (4-3) on Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium. Tasked with one of the most demanding early-season schedules, Baltimore will start to face less challenging competition. A win against the Dolphins in Week 9 would put John Harbaugh’s team squarely in the AFC playoff chase as the stretch run begins.
The last meeting between the two teams in Miami took place in Week 10 of the 2021 season, also on a Thursday night, when quarterback Tua Tagovailoa came off the bench to lead the Dolphins to a comeback victory. Tagovailoa has had success against the Ravens’ defense, including a six-touchdown explosion in 2022.

Second half
Malaki Starks’ first career interception
Starks has been improving, and on Thursday night, he logged his first career interception.
Lamar Jackson is back
Jackson connected with Mark Andrews for two catches, 22 yards, and two touchdowns in the first half, and spread the wealth around, connecting with Charlie Kolar on a three-yard touchdown catch. An impressive drive, Jackson went 6-for-6 for 47 yards and a touchdown, and had a 13-yard scramble.
First half
Isaiah Likely has his moment
Coming into Thursday night, Likely had recorded five catches for 26 yards on five targets across four games played. However, three out of Likely’s four games played this season came without Lamar Jackson in the lineup. With Jackson back in the lineup, his role could expand, and early on, Likely had one catch for 35 yards to close out the first quarter.
Ravens take a 7-3 lead
After Teddye Buchanan caused a fumble, Lamar Jackson found tight end Mark Andrews in the back of the end zone for a two-yard touchdown.
Teddye Buchanan
The Defensive Rookie of the Month, a hustling Teddye Buchanan, caused the fumble, and the newest Raven, Alohi Gilman, recovered to put Baltimore in the red zone.
Pregame action
Inactives
The Ravens are in Miami for a crucial Week 9 matchup, and Jaire Alexander and Devontez Walker are among seven Baltimore Ravens starters ruled out for Thursday night’s contest. Veteran quarterback Cooper Rush, Rookie Carson Vinson, rookie Emery Jones, rookie Aeneas Peebles, and Sanoussi Kane will join Alexander and Walker.
Baltimore totally revamped the secondary, adding Alohi Gilman to a unit that has Nate Wiggins, T.J. Tampa, Keyon Martin, and Marlon Humphrey forming the rotation at cornerback. At safety, it’ll be Malaki Starks, Kyle Hamilton, and Gilman.
