Prosecutors request to revoke bail for Kapahulu barricade suspect

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Prosecutors have requested to hold Kapahulu standoff suspect Robert Morris without bail.

The 49-year-old barricaded himself in a home on Herbert Street on Tuesday, Oct. 21, for 15 hours. He surrendered at around midnight on Oct. 22 and walked out with a woman who is believed to be his wife.

Morris also allegedly shot a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) task force officer in the hand as the group tried to execute a search warrant.

He was charged with assault on a federal officer.

His court appearance was delayed twice because he was getting medical treatment.

Morris remains in custody with the U.S. Marshals Service.

A detention hearing is now scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 4.
