Pat and Cam Spencer matched up last night, and everyone was loving it

It’s not often that you get to see two brothers face off against each other in the NBA. Last night, at the end of the fourth quarter, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr and Memphis Grizzlies head coach Tuomas Iisalo made sure we got to see just that, putting in Pat Spencer and Cam Spencer respectively.
Both benches cleared as the brothers went one-on-one, with Steph Curry getting particularly excited. He has a brother in the NBA as well, and has matched up with him dozens of times over the course of their careers. The Warriors signed Seth Curry to a preseason contract, and are planning on picking him up again once they have the financial flexibility, so the brothers can be teammates for the first time in their careers. So, it makes sense that he would go absolutely bonkers upon seeing his teammate Pat Spencer match up with his younger brother.
Pat Spencer, 29, was a standout lacrosse player for Loyola University before transferring to Northwestern to play basketball. Pat signed with the Capital City Go-Go in 2021, and then was offered a contract with the Santa Cruz Warriors in 2022. He was called up to the NBA for the first time in 2024 on a two-way contract with the Warriors. Since then, he has become a rotational player for the Warriors. His younger brother, Cam, was selected 53rd by the Detroit Pistons in the 2024 NBA Draft before his rights were traded to the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Warriors and the Grizzlies will match up two more times this season, so hopefully we’ll get to see more of the Spencer brothers facing off.
