‘F**ked up’: Gallagher erupts at Melbourne act

Liam Gallagher has erupted in a foul mouthed-tirade after two flares were launched into the packed crowd at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium during the final song of the sold-out Oasis concert on Friday night.

“To the massive C**T who launched that flare into the crowd last night at the gig in Melbourne you are 1 seriously f**ked up individual and you will get yours trust me,” the singer said this morning.

A Melbourne mum told news.com.au that about halfway through ‘Champagne Supernova’ she saw a flare go off and land with a flash among concertgoers before she saw a second flash do the same.

“Each time you saw this flash, it looked like a fire, and then it was contained fairly quickly,” Virginia, who attended the band’s debut Australian concert with her family, said.

“I was there with my 13 year-old daughter, so once that went off, I thought it was bad and thought we’ll just leave before the end of the song and try and get outside.”

The flares appeared to come from within the crowd, and while frontmen Noel and Liam Gallagher didn’t interrupt the song, it appears the incident did not go unnoticed by them.

“My husband thought Noel Gallagher looked worried. And then Liam like waggled his finger and went ‘naughty, naughty’,” she said.

“It was so packed, so packed in there. If you’re at the footy or the cricket there’s a bit more space to move around, but there… I hope people are okay.”

Virginia said security appeared quite tight on arrival where bags were checked and people scanned.

It is unclear if there were any injuries as a result of the incident. News.com.au has contacted Marvel Stadium for comment.

Earlier in the evening, Liam Gallagher shared the band’s excitement at being back in Australia for the first time in decades after performing their opening track.

“G’day Australia! Did you miss us?” he asked the crowd before adding: “Because we missed you!”

Fans in the audience have been seen shouting and yelling, throwing what appears to be drinks and even getting shirtless as the concert got under way.

Melbourne had been sent into a frenzy in the hours leading up to Oasis taking to the stage tonight.

Fans in the city had been queuing up since as early as 5am for their chance to get a good spot at Thursday night’s opening show.

Fans outside the venue had even been breaking into song, just sadly not sounding quite as good as Noel and Liam.

One fan told 7News: “If Noel and Liam can make up then there’s hope for us all!”

It comes after Oasis star Noel Gallagher was spotted out and about in Melbourne ahead of the band’s opening night.

Gallagher took time out of his rehearsal schedule to visit The Flower Drum for a spot of lunch with his entourage, which included his son Donovan and family friend, aspiring rapper Zion.

Their lunch trip came after Donovan and Zion ventured out for some sightseeing on Wednesday night.

“Zion in the land of kangaroos,” Donovan said on a picture posted to Instagram. Another post said: “The NG squad has landed in Australia.”

Noel’s brother, lead singer Liam Gallagher, arrived in Melbourne on Tuesday.

He recently confessed that he had been “blown away” by the reaction to the band’s world tour that sold out every date within minutes.

“It’s difficult to put it into words, every night is the crowd’s first night, so every one has that same energy to it,” he told TalkSport radio recently. “I’m not usually short for words, but I can’t really articulate it.”

He added, “I grossly underestimated what I was getting into. I’ve done stadiums before, but my legs turn to jelly about halfway through the second song.”

Their last show in Australia was in late 2005 for their Don’t Believe the Truth tour.

Before that, they also toured Down Under in 1998 for the first time ever – and his demeanour back then is in stark contrast to the Liam who arrived in Melbourne overnight.

In resurfaced footage, the rocker could be seen shirtless and ranting about being banned by Cathay Pacific after the band allegedly “harassed staff and passengers” from a flight from Hong Kong to Perth.

When asked by reporters about his alleged behaviour on board, Liam had this to say: “I don’t give a flying f**k about Cathay Pacific because I’ll tell you kids, I’d rather walk.”

The duo will perform three shows at Marvel Stadium before heading to Sydney to play two shows at Accor Stadium, alongside bandmates Gem Archer, Andy Bell, and Joey Waronker.

Guitarist Mike Moore will replace OG member Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs for the Asia and Australia legs of the tour as he undergoes treatment for prostate cancer.
