ALDI recalls popular product as possible health risk issued

The retailer has confirmed that any affected customers are entitled to a full refund

ALDI have issued a warning for customers to claim a full refund as one of their popular items has been recalled due to a nut allergy warning.
Any shoppers who have purchased ALDI Dairyfine Crispy Choc Um’s have been encouraged to return the product to their nearest store and to claim a full refund.
The recall comes as the product may contain peanuts. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts.
Issuing a allergy alert for the product, the Food Standards Authority (FSA) has outlined the company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.
These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.

The FSA wrote: “If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to peanuts do not eat it. Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.
“For further details, please contact ALDI customer services on 0800 042 0800.”

ALDI themselves added: “As a precautionary measure, our supplied is recalling Dairyfine Crispy Choc Um’s because it may contain peanuts.
“Customers are asked to return this product to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given.
“We apologise that this product did not meet our high standards and thank you for your co-operation.”
The barcode number that’s been given for the product is : 4061463833464.
ALDI have also noted that all “Best Before Dates” should be returned to the closest store.
