Chelsea have Vinicius Jr ‘on their radar’ amid winger’s outburst during El Clasico

The Chelsea Chronicle understands that Chelsea are monitoring the situation of superstar Vinicius Jr at Real Madrid.

The Blues have not been afraid to spend big money on new signings since the new owners came into the club. Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo joined for more than £100m each in consecutive transfer windows.

Vinicius Jr represents the chance for the Blues to sign another player who is amongst the best in the world in their position, and they could significantly strengthen the left side of their attack in the process.

Transfer insider Graeme Bailey has exclusively told The Chelsea Chronicle that the Brazilian has been told he will be sold by Madrid this summer if he does not put pen to paper on a new deal.

Chelsea have Vinicius Jr ‘on their radar’

He said: “Let’s not forget Vini Jr. It’s not a new thing that he’s unsettled there. He’s only got 18 months left on his deal and Real Madrid have told him that if he doesn’t sign a new deal by next summer, he’ll be sold.

“There’s only a handful of clubs who can get him. I’m told he doesn’t want to go to Saudi Arabia. In England, there’s only Chelsea, City and Liverpool.

“I know these types of deals are not ones that Chelsea tend to do at the moment, but when someone like that comes on the market, I don’t think that Todd Boehly would turn his nose up at that because he’s a marquee, generational player. Imagine the commercial gains you can get off Vini Jr.

“Come next summer, if he’s only got a year left, we’re not talking £200m. I wouldn’t necessarily rule Chelsea out of that equation. I think he’ll sign a new deal, but he’s clearly not happy.

“Keep an eye on Vini Jr. Chelsea are one of the ones who have looked at him before, and he’s on their radar.”

Vinicius Jr’s El Clasico meltdown

Real Madrid were victorious in the weekend’s El Clasico against Barcelona, however it was not the most enjoyable outing for Vinicius Jr, who was subbed off in the second half.

The winger stormed past manager Xabi Alonso, reportedly saying: “I’m leaving the team, it’s better I go.”

With Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham occupying superstar status at the Bernabeu, it looks as if the Brazil international is struggling to deal with the task of sharing the limelight.

Chelsea could be sensing an opportunity to capitalise, and will fancy themselves as much as any other side if the moment comes where Vinicius Jr has to leave Madrid.
