Dominik Mysterio Talks Following in Rey’s Footsteps, Taking on John Cena

“Dirty” Dominik Mysterio has been one of the most discussed wrestlers during 2025, and has been very popular with fans & media across the world. Dominik recently spoke with Liam O’Loughlin of Wide World of Sports in Australia on several topics, including following in his father’s footsteps and his future plans.

On following in Rey Mysterio’s footsteps

“I don’t really feel the pressure. When it comes to being a multi-generation family in the industry and having the Mysterio name and everything he’s done, I never really took the pressure in a bad way. It almost motivated me and made me want to go out there and have fun. Now when people talk about the Mysterios, they talk about me as well which is really cool to see.”

On potentially facing John Cena

“It would be amazing. I’d love to put one of the final nails in the coffin of John Cena’s career. I’ve known him since I was a kid, so being able to get in the ring with him would be awesome. This is the only title he has never held in the WWE. If he wants some, he can come and get some.”

Cena’s final appearances include two stops on Raw: November 10 in Boston & November 17 in New York City. Dominik is no stranger to facing legends at Madison Square Garden. CM Punk faced Dominik Mysterio at MSG in one of Punk’s first matches back with WWE in December 2023. It remains to be seen whether or not Dirty Dom will get another chance to knock off a legend.

Dominik Mysterio will likely appear on tonight’s edition of WWE Raw from the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA.
