Some Major SPOILERS For John Cena’s Final WWE Matches Have Been Revealed

John Cena’s final match is on the horizon, and with only two more PLE appearances left for the 17-time WWE Champion, some potentially major spoilers about plans for the future Hall of Famer have surfaced.

John Cena only has two PLE appearances left before hanging up his wrestling jorts: Survivor Series: WarGames and December’s Saturday Night’s Main Event. Now, we may know what WWE has planned for him at both shows.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dominik Mysterio will successfully retain his Intercontinental Championship over Penta and Rusev at tonight’s Saturday Night’s Main Event in Salt Lake City.

He’ll then defend it against Cena at Survivor Series: WarGames, with the Leader of the Cenation finally gaining the one title that’s eluded him his entire career.

From there, Cena would defend the Intercontinental Championship against Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event, presumably losing the title to the formidable Austrian in his final bout. It would be an interesting send-off for Cena, and a great way to put Gunther back on the map following some noteworthy losses (and a big win over Goldberg) in 2025.

“Despite any speculation or rumors, on July 6, 2024 I announced I would retire from WWE in ring participation,” Cena wrote on X last month. “I am far from perfect but strive to be a person whose word has value.”

“12/13/25 will be my final match. I am beyond grateful for every moment WWE has given me. I am excited for 12/13 & look forward to seeing all of you one last time,” he concluded.

Following a year-long farewell tour, with stops at WrestleMania 41 and SummerSlam along the way, Cena will bring his decorated career – highlighted by 17 World Championships, five U.S. Championship title reigns and two Royal Rumble victories – to an emphatic close live from the nation’s capital. We recently learned that President Donald Trump may be in attendance

Here’s what tonight’s Saturday Night’s Main Event card currently looks like:
