‘Possibly’: Mat Sadler to make Walsall youngster call ahead of Eastleigh FA Cup tie

Sadler’s table toppers head south on Sunday to take on the mid table National League side – hoping to avoid a potential upset and advance to the second round.
The Walsall boss has stated that there is not a big gap between the National League and League Two, hinting that he will put out a strong side for Sunday’s clash.
Cup games this season have seen Sadler take the chance to blood in some of Walsall’s top talents, with Stan Straw, McLloyd Oben and Paul Makavore featuring in EFL Trophy games.
The Walsall boss hasn’t ruled out including those youngsters in his squad on Sunday – and was full of praise for the season the Saddlers’ youngsters are having ahead of their FA Youth Cup clash with AFC Dunstable next week.
Asked whether any youngsters will be included on Saturday, Sadler said: “Possibly. They’ve got a big game themselves on Tuesday night.
“We’ll again make a decision what we think on that, but I think they’re proving themselves to be strong enough to be in and around a squad, which is good at this early stage of their development, but of course we’ve got to remember how young they are.
“We’ll see. No real decisions made on that yet.
“They’re obviously getting good game time in their league, doing really well in that.
“They had a good result in the Walsall Senior Cup on Wednesday, which was really good for them and they’ve got the FA Youth Cup on Tuesday, so there’s loads of stuff going on academy-wise at the moment.
“It good to have a real close finger on the pulse of that because we want to bring our own players through, and that’s going to be a key model for us in the future, but we’ll see for Sunday.”
