‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Star Lola Tung Joins Megan Mullally, Tom Welling, & More in Dramedy Film ‘Chasing Summer’

Lola Tung has joined the cast of a new romance!

The 23-year-old The Summer I Turned Pretty star has joined the cast of a new romantic dramedy film called Chasing Summer.

Actress and comedian Iliza Shlesinger will write and star, with the film to be directed by award-winning filmmaker Josephine Decker, reports Variety.

Apart from Lola, Chasing Summer also stars Megan Mullally, Tom Welling, Aimee Garcia, Cassidy Freeman, and Jeff Perry.

Iliza is best known for for her stand-up comedy, but her other credits include Spenser Confidential, Pieces of a Woman, The Righteous Gemstones, and Instant Family, among others.

“This movie is for anyone who’s ever gotten in their own way — it’s a love letter to my generation, my home state, and (Millennial) nostalgia,” said the comedian. “Every day of production I was floored by the caliber of cast and crew involved, and I’m so proud of what we created. I’ll carry it with me forever.”

Lola has several projects in the works, including the musical The Turning and The Summer I Turned Pretty movie.
