The wedding bands were exchanged, the wedding table was laid, and the happy couple have laid down in eiderdown: Broadway favorites Eva Noblezada and Reeve Carney are officially married!
The couple, who met originating the roles of Orpheus and Eurydice in the National Theatre’s London production of Hadestown in 2018, subsequently starred together in the Anaïs Mitchell musical’s Tony-winning Broadway premiere. The pair are one of Broadway’s most prominent modern power couples.
Footage of their wedding was released to social media by one of Noblezada’s bridesmaids, Abby DePhillips, and reshared by the official Hadestown social media channels, including the caption “Now, it will always be like this.” In the comments of the post, Noblezada clarified that, personally, she will now be known as Eva Noblezada-Carney (It is unclear if she intends to also change how she is professionally credited).
The duo are currently starring opposite eat other in Cabaret on the West End, as Sally Bowles and the Emcee.
Noblezada, a two-time Tony nominee for her performances in Hadestown and Miss Saigon, also originated the role of Daisy in Broadway’s The Great Gatsby. Carney is a singer, songwriter, and actor who created the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Julie Taymor and U2’s Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark. He’s also known for his portrayal of Dorian Gray in Penny Dreadful and his performance as Riff Raff in the TV remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let’s Do The Time Warp Again.
Our best to the happy couple! We cannot wait to see them back onstage on this side of the pond.
