The Internet went berserk over a hilarious coincidence involving star batter Shubman Gill and his idol, Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter, Sara, during the third T20I between India and Australia in Hobart on Sunday (November 2).

In the sixth over of India’s innings, Gill hit a nice flick over mid-wicket for a boundary against Nathan Ellis, and the cameras immediately panned to Sara in the crowd, seemingly enjoying the match. On the next ball, Ellis trapped Gill in front with an excellent slower one that outfoxed the India vice-captain completely.

The internet was already going crazy seeing Sara in the stands. Unconfirmed gossip about her supposed friendship with Gill has made headlines for years now, but seeing Gill get out immediately after gave even more fuel to the fodder. It’s not uncommon for celebrities or their children to watch India’s international matches, while Sara is also an ambassador for Australian Tourism.

Still, check the funniest reactions below:

Gill’s form has been poor in white-ball cricket. Since being appointed the vice-captain and replacing Sanju Samson as the opener, he has yet to cross fifty, managing 183 runs in 10 innings.

Australia smash 186/6

Tim David’s blistering 74 off 38 balls powered Australia to 186/6 in the third T20I on Sunday, neutralizing India’s promising start. Opting to bowl in cool conditions, India began strongly through Arshdeep Singh, who marked his return with two early wickets, Travis Head and Josh Inglis, leaving Australia reeling at 14/2.

But David’s brutal counterattack turned the tide, as he dispatched five sixes, four straight down the ground and one over cover off Axar Patel, while dominating every Indian bowler, including Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy. A dropped catch by Washington Sundar on 20 further proved costly.

After David’s dismissal, Marcus Stoinis (64 off 39) carried the assault, ensuring a competitive total. India sorely felt the absence of Hardik Pandya, with Shivam Dube proving expensive, while Abhishek Sharma’s single over went for 13. Chakravarthy briefly checked Australia’s charge with consecutive wickets of Mitchell Marsh and Mitchell Owen, but the late overs belonged to David and Stoinis, who punished anything loose before Arshdeep and Bumrah finished the innings tidily.
