Bournemouth head to the Etihad on Sunday on an eight-game unbeaten run and two points better off than their hosts, Manchester City.
The Citizens lost 1-0 at Aston Villa last Sunday, while a much-changed side responded with a 3-1 EFL Cup win at Swansea.
Pep Guardiola’s side have won their last four at home , conceding only once and have beaten Bournemouth in all eight previous league meetings at the Etihad.
However, this is the best side the Cherries have put together during their two spells in the Premier League and Andoni Iraola’s side are backed to cause issues at Eastlands.

Manchester City v Bournemouth preview
A double-take might be required when assessing the Premier League table and seeing that Bournemouth are two points better off than Manchester City ahead of their meeting at the Etihad.
The Cherries are good value for it too, as they are unbeaten in eight matches and enjoying their best start to a top-flight campaign.
They most recently defeated Nottingham Forest 2-0 and have also beaten Tottenham 1-0 on the road.
Spurs’ 2-0 win at the Etihad in August is one of three league defeats City have suffered this season, most recently losing 1-0 at Aston Villa last Sunday.
They bounced back with a 3-1 EFL Cup win at Swansea and can regain the winning thread, having won their last four home games.
Only Burnley have scored during that time and history is also against the Cherries, who have lost all eight of their previous league visits to the Etihad.
Those results are worth ignoring, though, with their exploits this season adding to Andoni Iraola’s reputation, and Sunday’s game has even been tagged up as a potential audition to be Pep Guardiola’s replacement once the City boss steps aside.
That notion still feels premature but there is much to like about Iraola’s side and they can take the game to the Citizens in an entertaining contest.
Bournemouth lost 4-2 at Liverpool on the Premier League’s opening night and they are expected to play their part again, albeit in a losing cause.
Foden can net on his special day

Phil Foden was one of several England players who struggled for form after losing the Euro 2024 final, and Thomas Tuchel still doesn’t seem to fancy him.
However, while the 25-year-old’s numbers have not been too impressive, he looks to have regained some of his former verve and is set to make his 200th league appearance for City on Sunday.
Whether from the start or off the bench, the Etihad will cheer every touch their homegrown hero takes, and it would be fitting for him to find the net.
Look for a repeat scoreline
City won 3-1 when these sides met at the Etihad in May, and it is worth noting that Bournemouth have scored exactly once in five of their last six visits.
Guardiola’s side have averaged three goals in their recent four-match unbeaten streak at home, and another 3-1 victory feels a sensible selection.
Key stats for Manchester City v Bournemouth
♦ Manchester City have won all eight league meetings against Bournemouth at the Etihad
♦ City have won their last four home games
♦ Bournemouth are unbeaten in eight league games since losing their opener at Liverpool
♦Four of the Cherries last five league away games have featured at least four goals
♦ Bournemouth have scored in five of their last six visits to the Etihad
