“Ladies, I’m scared of you. [Sharon] Lokedi and [Hellen] Obiri, they already did this course and are very strong women. They are very tough. Especially Obiri, I’ve raced with her on the track, too. She’s a beast, and I’m really happy to compete with her, and we can also talk,” Sifan Hassan said as per the Abbott World Marathon Majors.

Sifan Hassan added that she enjoys the company of Kenyan marathoners because they are easy to talk to and very friendly.

She expressed excitement ahead of meeting them again and getting to share the same stage with eyes focused on the prize.

“I like Kenyans. They are very friendly and easy to talk to. I communicate with them. They are very nice. So I’m going to see them again,” she added.

As she prepares to face Hellen Obiri and Sharon Lokedi in New York, Sifan Hassan remains both humbled and motivated, embracing the challenge of competing against 2023 champion Hellen Obiri, while cherishing the mutual respect and camaraderie that define their rivalry.
