‘I expect they’ll impose a high tempo, play long, and in our half. We know it will be a very tough match, but we’ll approach it, as always, with great confidence. We learnt some positive lessons from Roma, but we’re aware we need to improve. What we did at the Olimpico won’t be enough.
Bologna is a complete team, strong in pressing, set pieces, and building from the back. They’re very effective using the wings, so we’ll need to limit them and make the most of our own opportunities. I have great respect for Bologna; they have many high-quality individual players.
Is Bologna similar to Como? Defensively, they’re very different. We’ll try to exploit the spaces we get in attack to maximise our chances. We need to win the ball high up the pitch and stay compact to give them as little space as possible.’
