It’s the first day of November, which means it’s time for the most fun month of the college football season. Playoff rankings will be released every Tuesday, only to be rendered meaningless when the final results are in after the conference championship games in early December. Nobody can secure a playoff spot Nov. 1, but plenty of teams can play their way out of the playoff picture even before the first set of rankings comes out three days from now.
