Man arrested after assault at Bangor business

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – A man was arrested after police say he allegedly assaulted an employee at a Bangor business with a knife.

It happened just before 6:30 a.m., Sunday at a business on Main Street.

Paul Bernard, 61, of Bangor is charged with elevated aggravated assault.

Bangor Police say the employee of the business was taken to a hospital where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Bernard was taken to the Penobscot County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information is being released at this time.
