Amanda Holden has claimed that Alan Carr’s Celebrity Traitors feud with his ‘best friend’ was ‘blown out of proportion’ as she spoke to a separate star of the BBC programme.

Viewers around the nation are anxiously awaiting the final of the Claudia Winkleman series, which takes place on Thursday evening (November 6).

Comedian Alan and his fellow traitor Cat Burns will be seen trying to deceive faithfuls Joe Marler, Ted Lasso’s Nick Mohammed and historian David Olusoga.

With Cat having doubts from former rugby star Joe about her loyalty, Alan may have let his identity slip when he began to burst out laughing when asked by Claudia to say he was faithful in front of everyone.

The former Chatty Man host has been a fan favourite with those watching at home, with many amazed how he has managed to make it to the final after consistently being seen giggling about his mischievous actions.

Early on in the series, when he and Cat were still joined by Jonathan Ross in the turret, Alan was tasked with murdering a faithful in plain sight.

Deciding to take out his close friend Paloma Faith, the singer went on to reveal that she doesn’t think he ‘should have done it’ to her.

On Monday morning (November 3), Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda and her Heart Breakfast co-host Jamie Theakston were joined by Kate Garraway just days after she was voted off at the roundtable.

With Jamie questioning what Alan and Paloma’s relationship is like, Amanda said: “That’s all been blown out of proportion… 100%. It’s a game, Jamie!”

Kate replied: “It’s a game! Alan hasn’t said anything about Paloma to me, and Paloma hasn’t about Alan. I think it was pretty shocking.

“It was indeed flabbergasting even though Tom thought it was ridiculous to be flabbergasted, but to see her in that coffin when the lid slammed down was really shocking!”

Pointing out that ‘no one would ever want to do that’, Amanda noted that Alan ‘couldn’t have touched anyone else’s face apart from Paloma’s’.

“If he’d come over and touched my face, I would have been delighted but thought it was a bit odd,” Kate said.

Amanda joked: “Yes exactly! And you don’t know where those fingers have been!”

Meanwhile, Kate revealed that the name of the Celebrity Traitors WhatsApp group is ‘Traitors aren’t evil, they’re just misunderstood’ and was set up by Jonathan.

“He [Jonathan] is still traumatised by being a traitor and we just talk about the show, what we’re up to and doing,” Kate said.

Listen to Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden weekdays from 6.30am to 10:00am across the UK and on Global Player
