Election Day forecast for Metro Detroit, with snowflakes possible this weekend

4Warn Weather – Metro Detroiters should make the most of the mild weather because temperatures will plummet next week.
Skies will be mostly clear and breezy on Monday night, with lows dropping to the mid-30s.
Wind will be from the west at 5 to 15 mph, gusting to 25 mph. The combination of a crisp night and a mild day makes for comfortable outdoor conditions, though there will be gusty winds.
Tuesday
Metro Detroit is expected to see sunshine and mild conditions on Tuesday as voters head to the polls.
The conditions will favor voters who need to wait outdoors.
Still, people might consider a light jacket or windbreaker for early-morning lines and a comfortable shirt for the milder afternoon.

Winds will be from the west at 5 to 10 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph.
Looking Ahead
Looking ahead at the 7-day forecast, the mild trend continues through mid-week, with temperatures climbing into the lower-60s on Wednesday.
A system will bring a couple of rain showers on Wednesday, but the better chance of rain will be on Friday.
While Saturday will likely begin dry, rain showers will return Saturday night.
Cooler conditions will arrive for Sunday and Monday. Highs will drop into the mid-40s on Sunday and mid-30s on Monday.
A few rain showers will move across Southeast Michigan on Sunday, and sprinkles and wet flurries will be possible on Monday.
While accumulating snow is not in Metro Detroit’s 7-day forecast, it would not be uncommon to see it at this point in the season.
The average date for the season’s first measurable snowfall, or at least one-tenth of an inch, in Detroit is Nov. 16.
