The Dow Falls 200 Points. Why the S&P 500, Nasdaq Are Rising.

The Dow’s early gains didn’t last long.
The blue-chip index fell 217 points, or 0.5%, shortly after opening higher on Monday. The S&P 500 was up slightly. The Nasdaq Composite was up 0.5%.
Stock market breadth was actually terrible: More than 400 stocks in the S&P 500 were down on the day. The index was being carried by large tech stocks like Amazon.com, Nvidia, and Palantir Technologies. Such stocks were also boosting the Nasdaq Composite.
