Lucic joins Blues’ AHL affiliate on PTO

Milan Lucic is rejoining the St. Louis Blues organization.

The veteran forward has signed with the team’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds, on a professional tryout (PTO) basis.

Lucic, 37, was released from his PTO with the Blues in early October with general manager Doug Armstrong noting that he was dealing with an injury. Armstrong said that the plan was for the Vancouver native to come back at some point on a PTO in-season once he had recuperated.

Lucic appeared in two preseason games for the Blues, recording a pair of assists.

Lucic last played in the NHL during the 2023-2024 season, suiting up in four games for a second stint with the Boston Bruins. He’s appeared in 1,177 games over 17 seasons with the Bruins, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings.

For his career, Lucic has 233 goals and 353 assists. He won a Stanley Cup with the Bruins in 2011.
