Mrs. Judith Eve Kohler (Judy) Obituary | 1939 – 2025

It is with sad hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Mrs. Judith Eve Kohler, known fondly as Judy, on October 31, 2025, in Windsor Ontario. She was 86 years old. Born in the spring of ’39, in Tarentorus, Algoma District of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Judy was the cherished daughter of the late Charles (Bud)and Lula (Lou) Charlebois and the second daughter of 6 children. Billy; Herbie; Mary Ellen (Sandy) Lake; Peter/Glen (Leahann); and Dorothy (Paul Pilon). Little Dorothy and Judy were especially close.

Beloved mother of Dianne (Tim) Taylor; Garnet and Emily Fletcher; Terri Lou Fletcher and Trish Beemer; David Fletcher; and John Paul Tremblay.

Treasured Grandmother of Melissa and Glen Desjardins; Michell and Albert Maltese; Matthew and Debora Fletcher; Jamie Maher; Dayna and Tate Landon; Paige and Tyler Tremblay; Jesse James; and David Fletcher.

Dear Great Gramma of Bailey and Caiden Desjardins; Joshua Mower; Christien and Daniel Fletcher; Jayden and Lucas Maher; Grayson and Reed Landon; Marlena and Andreas Maltese.

Fondly remembered by Trish’s son’s family the Beemer’s Cory, Tracy, Kayven and Kaitlyn, Kestel and Aaron.

Gramma had a special place in her heart and loved her grandson David’s little brother RJ.

Judy was a life-long friend of Aggie Farmer, and she was lovingly known as Gramma Judy to Aggie’s grandbabies Robbie, Mikey, Crystal, Kyle, Hunter, Hailey, Deanna, and Amanda.

Special Auntie to Tracy and Steven Lake; Bobby-Jo and David Russell; Darlene and Jason Charlebois; Pamela and Herbie Charlebois Jr. Steven, Courtney, Chantel and Kyle Russell; Kayla and Dave Prince and their children.

Judy spent many summers at the gathering of Missanabie Cree First Nation in Missanabie Ontario. Her in-laws the Fletchers thought the world of her, and she loved them in return.

Judy was a cheerful waitress for many years in Amherstburg and Florida. She was a dedicated volunteer with many different veterans service clubs including the VFW where she served as the president of the ladies auxiliary. She raised funds at many charity events for veterans families. She was very proud and happy to have lived and served in her community of beautiful, sunny, Tavares Florida for 35 years.

She relocated back to Amherstburg and then enjoyed spending the last five years of her life living with Trish and Terri and our new puppy Primrose in Windsor.

Mom had a zest for life and loved to dance; her and Lil Dorothy called it “Honky Tonkin”! She travelled a lot, taking as many ocean voyages as she could, and boy did she cruise! She loved to play pool, Loved to cook and was good at it. And she loved her family fiercely!

Her faith was not bound by the doctrines of any single creed but was as expansive as the universe itself. Judy was strong, independent, generous, spirited, and courageous.

Judy passed away on Halloween, a day she loved because she loved going out dressed up in her earlier years and later watching all the kids in their costumes, sharing her goodies with them. We will mark this day with special memories.

She will be dearly missed and always remembered with much love and affection. And so, we bid farewell to Judy, a woman of boundless spirit and heart.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be announced privately.
