Scotland’s best free Bonfire Night and firework displays dazzling skies tonight

Today is November 5, which means tonight Scots all over the country will be celebrating Bonfire Night. Also known as Fireworks Night, the annual celebration is centred around spectacular bonfires and dazzling fireworks displays.

There are many Bonfire Night events taking place across Scotland on Wednesday. No matter where in the country you live, you are unlikely to be too far from a bonfire or fireworks display.

The Daily Record has rounded up some of the best free Bonfire Night events you can attend in Scotland tonight. From Aberdeen to Inverness, some of the country’s biggest cities will be hosting celebrations.

Aberdeen Fireworks 2025

The yearly free fireworks event in the Granite City returns tonight, when it will set the night sky over the Port of Aberdeen’s North Pier ablaze with bright colours. Onlookers can watch the action unfold from the southern end of Aberdeen’s Esplanade.

Kicking off the city’s Winter Festival, the display will start at 7.30pm and last approximately 20 minutes. There will be Park and Ride buses at Bridge of Don, Kingswells, and The Aberdeen Altens Hotel, while the drop-off and return pick-up point at the beach is situated on Wellington Street.

Kilwinning Fireworks in the Park

Kilwinning in North Ayrshire will be hosting a community Bonfire Night on November 5 at McGavin Park. There will be a short family fireworks display at 6pm, with less noise and fewer bangs, followed by a full display at 7.30pm.

Although the event is free to attend, donations are encouraged. According to organisers, a “very reasonable” £12 is the suggested donation for a family.

Perth Round Table Bonfire Night

Elsewhere, Perth’s South Inch Park will also be the site of a spectacular free Bonfire Night event on Wednesday evening. Families should try and get down early, as there will be a funfair from 4.30pm onwards.

The real action will kick off at 7pm, with the lighting of the bonfire, while the fireworks display is set to begin half an hour later. Although the Perth Round Table Bonfire Night is free to attend, donations are encouraged—with the money going towards various local causes.

Inverness Bonfire and Fireworks display 2025

The free-to-attend Civic Bonfire and Fireworks display will be held tonight at Inverness’s Bught Park, with a catering village opening at 5pm. A variety of hot food stalls will be located at the park, perfect to warm you up.

Meanwhile, the lighting of the bonfire will take place at 6pm. A 20-minute musical fireworks display staged by the award-winning Fireworx Scotland team will follow at around 7pm.
