The forecast for November 5 has been dubbed a “mixed bag” as Brits reel from three yellow weather warnings which were issued this morning.

“The driest and clearest weather is likely in the east, but it will remain blustery,” The Met Office revealed.

“Western areas may see a drier start to the evening, so early trick-or-treaters could fare better before another batch of showery rain arrives.

“These showers, accompanied by gusty winds, will cross the country overnight, clearing eastern parts by Saturday morning.”

The south-east of the country may escape the heaviest of the showers for a while, but western and northern parts are more likely to pick up a couple of wet spells.

Daytime highs will hover around 14 and 15C while through the night it’ll drop to around 12C.

“The most likely areas to remain dry and have clearer skies will be in central and eastern parts of England’, a spokesperson for the forecaster told Metro.

“Further north and west in Wales, south west England, Northern Ireland and Western Scotland there will be more cloud coverage and higher chance of showers.

“There is some uncertainty in how far East those showers will make it across the UK on Wednesday evening so keep an eye on the forecast over the next couple of days to see if you should take an umbrella or coat along.”

In preparation for tomorrow’s festivities, motorists have been warned that it is illegal to buy and transport too many fireworks.

The law states that drivers caught travelling with in excess of 50 kg of fireworks could face hefty punishments unless they hold a valid registration or licence to do so – including fines of £300 and even six penalty points on their licence.

There’s also the risk of invalidating their insurance cover.

Meanwhile, Brits are set to be pummelled by heavy downpours with the Met Office issuing three yellow weather warnings.

A whopping 18 hours of heavy rain is set to batter the country today as three areas of the UK are slapped with weather warnings and floods are expected.

Heavy downpours have been lashing western England and Wales overnight with heavy showers expected to continue well into today.

Cornwall, Devon, Gloucestershire, Plymouth and Torbay have all been issued with a yellow weather warning for rainfall.

Meanwhile dozens of towns and cities in Wales have been affected by a yellow weather warning.

Further north, Cumbria has been affected by a similar yellow weather warning.

The warnings affecting the south and Wales were issued for 12pm today until 6am tomorrow.
