Mike Wheeler’s Final Stranger Things Scene Teased By Finn Wolfhard: “Bigger Than I Could Have Imagined”

Stranger Things Season 5, Volume 1, is releasing this month, with the first four episodes premiering on Netflix on November 26. One of the main stars, Finn Wolfhard, has revealed how he felt during those final moments as his character, Mike Wheeler.
In an interview with SFX Magazine, Wolfhard opened up about saying goodbye to Mike as well as what we can expect from his character during the final season. Wolfhard says that Mike is in “mission mode” and that he and his friends are “on a mission to finish this and try to find Vecna.” He also spoke of Mike’s final moments:
“I was definitely, definitely pleased with it. And it was something that I feel was bigger than I could have imagined. I couldn’t have imagined how big that moment felt, reading the final thing, and it ended in the best way it could have, when it comes to my character.”
Stranger Things became a global phenomenon when it was released on the streaming giant Netflix in 2016. Fans have been waiting three years to see how creators The Duffer Brothers would conclude the epic story set in the ‘80s in the small Indiana town called Hawkins.
The series’ main stars include Millie Bobby Brown, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Sadie Sink, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Joe Keery, and Maya Hawke.
Spoilers ahead for Stranger Things Season 4
During the interview with SFX, Matarazzo spoke of how season 5 felt like filming “eight movies“ and the season is “higher stakes and has a lot of action.” Schnapp stated that season 5 will uncover why Will was chosen to be taken during the first season and what his connection to the Upside Down is.
Dustin Mike Lucas and Will in Stranger Things season 5
Wolfhard confirmed that The Duffer Brothers actually used practical sets rather than greenscreens and that the set builds are “out of control“. While McLaughlin’s character, Lucas, is feeling tremendous guilt over Max’s condition and how “there’s a lot of trauma for him.”
Season 5 is gearing up to be an explosive finale. The Duffer Brothers are also working on Stranger Things: Tales from ‘85, which is releasing early next year, and Ross Duffer states that “The cartoon goes back and fills in a six-month gap that we weren’t able to explore.”
You can watch Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 1 on November 26, followed by Volume 2 on December 25, and the big finale on December 31.
