The Bolts are back on the ice after having their five-game winning streak was snapped in Colorado. Now that the pressure of winning every game is off, they can get right back to starting another one. Vegas is going to be a tough test, even tougher than when the Lightning beat them at the end of October.

Neither team is coming off of a back-to-back this time, so they have that going for them. While the Lightning are still waiting for a few players, well one player, Nick Paul, to get healthy, the Golden Knights have welcomed Noah Hanifin back to their line-up. They missed Akira Schmid last time as well, but he’ll likely be in net against the Bolts after posting a 1-0 win over the Detroit Red Wings.

Tampa Bay had some nice moments in their loss to the Avalanche, but mistakes and turnovers crept into their game at the wrong team, and Colorado is a team that will take advantage. So will, the Golden Knights. In their first meeting, the Bolts were responsible with the puck and limited Vegas’ chances.

Expect it to be another 11/7 night for the Lightning. Nick Paul practiced with the team on Wednesday, but he still isn’t expected to play. The Bolts power play formations also indicate that he’s not quite ready for return. If he was he’d likely be on one of the two units. According to Gabby Shirley, this is how the units lined up:

some power play work happening here …

PP1: Hedman, Kucherov, Hagel, Guentzel, Point

PP2: D’Astous, Goncalves, Bjorkstrand, James, Cirelli

Will those combinations work? Guess everyone will have to stay up late to watch.
