From today through Monday, Nov. 10, you can play one of the best games of 2025 for free on Steam and Xbox Series X. Warhorse Studios’ Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is being made available for new players to try out for free before it receives a 40% discount on Steam from Nov. 13 through Nov. 19. Your save files from the free trial period will carry over if you purchase the game.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a medieval RPG that puts you in the armor of Henry, the protagonist of the first game, as he navigates life in 15th century Europe amid a civil war. The son of a blacksmith, Henry becomes entangled in a “tumultuous tale of vengeance, betrayal, and self-discovery,” according to the game’s official description. Though it’s a direct sequel, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was made in an approachable way for both people who have and haven’t played the first game from 2018. It’s a beefy adventure that could take anywhere from 50-100 hours to complete.

The RPG was released in February as an early contender for 2025’s Game of the Year. While other games may have surpassed it in that race — Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has certainly become the favorite —Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 remains a dark horse contender and one of the year’s best.

If you’ve yet to check it out, now couldn’t be a better time. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is available for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X, and will be playable for free on the latter two platforms for the next few days.
