Zarine Khan, mother of Sussane and Zayed Khan, dies of cardiac arrest

Zarine Khan, wife of veteran actor-filmmaker Sanjay Khan and mother of Sussanne and Zayed Khan, died at her Mumbai residence on Thursday. She had been unwell for some time due to age-related issues.

The Khan family has requested privacy as they grieve. Zarine is survived by her husband Sanjay Khan and their four children – Sussanne Khan, Simone Arora, Farah Ali Khan, and actor Zayed Khan.

Before her marriage to Sanjay Khan in 1966, Zarine had a brief but memorable stint in Hindi cinema, appearing in films like ‘Tere Ghar Ke Saamne’ and ‘Ek Phool Do Mali’. The couple’s love story reportedly began at a bus stop, a chance meeting that blossomed into a lifelong partnership.

Her children have often spoken about the profound influence she had on their lives. In April this year, Zayed Khan shared, “Nothing, I mean nothing, can truly be achieved without your mother’s blessings. Love and peace (sic).”
