Former Seahawks Pro Bowler has quietly found the exit door on his career

2025 has been a rough year for former Seattle Seahawks. Not just players but coaches, too. Will Pete Carroll come back for another year with the Las Vegas Raiders? Maybe not. His first season has not gone as well as planned.
Neither have the first seasons with their new teams of players, such as quarterbacks Geno Smith and Russell Wilson, and wide receiver Tyler Lockett. Smith and Wilson are stuck on their teams for now, but Lockett has already asked for his release from the Tennessee Titans and has since signed with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Another former Seattle player who found his way to the Titans is safety Quandre Diggs. Diggs signed with Tennessee ahead of the 2024 season and was injured for a lot of last year, but was fairly healthy this season. He also wasn’t terrible, even though the team he played on was.

None of that seemingly matters, though. Tennessee has released Diggs ahead of Week 10. Ironically, they did so after claiming Seahawks safety Jerrick Reed II off of waivers. The Titans do love their former Seattle players, but letting one walk for a younger version is rough.
The question now is whether Diggs will find another team. He might, but he is also almost 33 years old and recently injured. That scares off a lot of teams. Still, the safety is a good guy, great in the locker room, supportive of his teammates and former teammates, and had a solid passer rating allowed of 90.3 this year.

He probably won’t come back to the Seahawks. He isn’t a great fit in Mike Macdonald’s scheme, as he is a pure free safety, and Macdonald likes to have players who can be moved around alignments to disguise his scheme. Diggs isn’t bad, but he is a bad fit in Seattle.
One team might give him a chance, however. The obvious answer to that is the Las Vegas Raiders, which have scooped up a bunch of former Seahawks since Pete Carroll became their head coach this past offseason. The list includes Lockett, Smith, Jamal Adams, Stone Forsythe, and Jon Rhattigan.
If Quandre Diggs still wants to play, ending up with the Raiders makes sense. If Vegas doesn’t pick him up, he might be facing a forced retirement. That’s too bad, as Diggs should be fondly remembered by 12s as he was ultra-productive for several seasons with the Seahawks.
