The Chicago Blackhawks ruled forward Frank Nazar out for the remainder of Friday’s contest against the Calgary Flames due to an undisclosed injury.

Nazar was chopped to the ice by Flames’ forward Joel Farabee in the first period, which sent him tumbling down awkwardly. Nazar was slow to get to the Blackhawks’ bench and immediately headed to the dressing room.
Just a few moments after the incident, Colton Dach took up for Nazar and challenged Farabee to a fight, which ended quickly and in favor of Chicago’s big power forward.
Nazar, 21, has recorded 11 points (5G, 6A) in 14 games this season and has been essential in the Blackhawks’ strong 6-5-3 start. Here’s to hoping it’s only a minor issue and he’ll be able to return for the conclusion of the team’s six-game road trip in Detroit on Sunday. Nazar, a Detroit native, also attended the University of Michigan, so you know that’s one he wants to suit up for.
Chicago is down to only ten forwards for the rest of Friday’s game with Nazar out.
