Sophomore Isaiah Evans scored 23 points and freshman Cameron Boozer finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds as Duke topped Texas 75-60 on Tuesday night at the Dick Vitale Invitational in Charlotte. The Blue Devils pulled away in the second half after trailing by one at the break, holding the Longhorns to 31.0% shooting in the final 20 minutes while hitting 47.8% of their shots after shooting only 37.9% in the first half. Sophomore Patrick Ngongba II went for 10 points while battling foul trouble.

Western Carolina trailed by 21 at halftime and didn’t get any closer in a 94-63 loss at Cincinnati on Monday night. Redshirt junior Cord Stansberry paced the Catamounts with 23 points while East Carolina transfer Julien Soumaoro scored 13 points, and redshirt junior Marcus Kell finished with 12 points and nine rebounds. Western Carolina turned the ball over 22 times and shot just 35.9% in the loss.

Duke has never lost to Western Carolina in three meetings, most recently in December 1996.
